I’m sure he was all over the world, but in Scotland, he collected rags for recycling and bones to make glue!
He would walk the streets with his cart shouting “rag, bone, any auld rags?”
Children would rush to give him something and in return he gave out balloons.
Sometimes the children would take the clothes off their backs or from their mothers washing line.
